BP branchline to Hamble.

Up until the mid 1980's BP Oil used to transport a few tanks a week along their 1 1/2 mile branch from the mainline at Hamble Halt to their storage depot on the banks of the Solent. The line is with us today, albeit rather overgrown.

The little BP owned Hunslet brings its solitary oil tank of from the Hamble oil storage depot up to the mainline exchange sidings. This line still exists, albeit mothballed since the mid 1980's. April 1984. Minolta SRT101 200mm Rokkor KR64
