A uid class 33 absorbs the final wrays of sun prior to a downpour on Saturday 18 August 1984. In the period 1982-87 Class 33s were rostered to power a limited number of Exeter-Paignton/Plymouth services, mainly taking over from 25s and 31s. The down train in this picture is more than likely the 14.30 or it might have been 14.40 Exeter-Paignton, returning as the 15.50 Paignton-Exteter. In 1983-84 the 33s worked about five or six daytime local services in the area. Thanks to a nice chap in Dawlish for help with this caption!
