Hampshire: Fawley Branch
1st April 1982

The Fawley Branchline was opened in the early 1920's to serve the new villages and towns along the west side of Southampton Water. It wasn't long before the the infamous fawley Oil Refinery was built near the southern end of the line. Passenger traffic was withdrawn in 1966, however this single track line still survives to serve the refinery - now one of the largest in Europe.
