T'was having a look in my neg file and found this one never printed of 'ADB968*' taken at Bristol Bath Road Depot on 5 May 1984 (I think), at a guess I shouldn't have been there, but hey, 23 years ago we lived in a simpler world. Rolleicord Va HP5/Epson 4870. Any more info on this engine would be great!

Update from Peter Kellett: ADB968000, the former D8243, then its life was as follows. ADB968000, the former D8243, then its life was as follows. New to Finsbury Park Feb 1961, withdrawn from Stratford Feb 1969. Stored at Stratford until Sep '69 when it was transfered to departmental stock and renumbered to ADB968000 for use as a carriage heating unit on Tyneside. Returned to London in 1972 to continue its roll as a carriage heater but had moved onto Derby for use in Litchurch Lane works during the early 1980's and then on to Bristol in Sep 1983.

From Paul Millard: Just noticed your updated archive traction - Bristol, 1984. Rolleicord Va HP5/Epson 4870. Somebody out there will recognise this loco from the positioning of the dead flies on the front I imagine. If so, please let me know. Do you know the spotters on th right? Must be well into their 40's now I'd have thought.
